Privacy policy
In short
Sashiko collects no data. The app only stores your settings, such as colours and speed, and only on your iPhone. There is no account, no server, no tracking and no advertising.
1. Controller
The provider named in the legal notice is responsible for the Sashiko app and this website. You will also find the contact details there.
2. The app
Your settings. Sashiko only stores what you set in the app: fabric and thread colours (for all patterns or per pattern), speed, chalk lines, haptics, tile size, paper size, appearance and language. This stays on your iPhone. It is not transferred to us or to anyone else; we have no access to it. The app does not ask for any personal information.
No connections. The app does not connect to the internet, neither to us nor to third parties. It contains no analytics, tracking or advertising services.
iPhone backup. If you back up your iPhone (iCloud or computer), the app’s settings are included. You control this in your iPhone’s settings; Apple is responsible for it.
Printing and PDF. A print sheet only leaves your iPhone when you print it yourself or save or share it as a PDF. The printer or service you choose then receives the sheet; its terms apply.
Deleting. Deleting the app removes all its settings from your iPhone.
3. App Store
Sashiko is offered through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes data for downloads, purchases and updates according to Apple’s privacy policy.
If you have agreed in your iPhone’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with aggregated statistics and crash reports. They do not tell us who you are.
4. This website
The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no content from third parties; the fonts are embedded in the pages, too. To choose the language, the start page reads your browser’s language setting; this happens only in your browser.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider Strato GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, processes technically necessary data in server log files: IP address, time, page requested and browser. This is needed to deliver the pages and protect them against misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log data is deleted after six weeks at the latest.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). As we receive no data about you through the app, in practice this only concerns the website’s server logs.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.
6. Changes
If anything changes in the app or the website, we will update this policy. The version published here applies.
